In October 2001 we went to visit our friends Laurens and Kate. They are working in Port Moresby. We spent 3 days with them there. Then 6 of us, (Jen, Anthony, Laurens, Kate, Brian and Shann) headed off to the Highlands.

First we went to Mt Hagen where we spent a night acclimatising to the cool. From there we traveled down the highlands highway to Mt. Wilhelm. After climbing the mountain we moved on to Gumine.

Gumine is a small village where "Hope International" has some medical clinics. We were welcomed to the village by some warriors, and we had several feasts of "mumu".

After the work in the village we felt a bit tired so we headed down to Madang for some swimming and relaxing on the coast.
